The PADI Advanced Open Water Course takes your diving to the next level and extends your skills and knowledge. With a huge range of fun and exciting Adventure dives to choose from, this course offers something for everyone and is a great way to extend the scope of your diving or combine diving with an existing skill or interest.
If you complete any three Adventure Dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver Scuba Diving Certification. If you complete your PADI Deep Adventure Dive, PADI Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and any three additional Adventure Dives (a total of five), you can earn your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Scuba Diving Certification.
What will I Learn during the PADI Advanced Course?
Taken over 2 or 3 days, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course requires you to experience and learn more about Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving. You’ll dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres and learn how depth and pressure effect your body when scuba diving.
You’ll also learn more about safety and limitations when diving recreationally.
Choose 3 further Adventure dives from a wide selection of interesting and exciting possibilities, including; Enriched Air (NITROX), U/W Digital Photography, U/W Videography, U/W Naturalist, AWARE Fish ID, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Multi-Level & Computer Diving, Wreck Diving, Night Diving and more.
Each Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Courses.
Who can participate in the PADI Advanced Course?
If you’re aged 12+ and have already completed the PADI Open Water Course (or equivalent), in general good health and fitness, and are not suffering from a cold or ear infection, you should be eligible to become a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.

How often do you run courses?
Courses start every day, at a time to suit you. You can book now, or come in to see see us while you’re on holiday in Koh Lanta, Phuket, Khao Lak. We offer free transfers to and from your resort in Koh Lanta for any of our dive courses or daily dive trips and Liveabord.
What languages do you teach in?
We run PADI Advanced Courses in English, German, Swedish and French. We run semi-supported courses in Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Thai. Please let us know if you require course materials in another language and we will order them for you.
How much does it cost?
If you take the PADI Advanced Course in 2 or 3 days, the price is 16,900 THB. At Richelieu Rock Scuba Diving, all our scuba certification courses include manuals and free scuba diving equipment rental. For the PADI Advanced Course program you’ll receive the PADI Adventures in Diving Manual, a Multi-Level and Navigation planning slate, log book.
In addition, we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards and prices include PADI certification fees.
On the dive boats, we supply breakfast, lunch, drinking water and fruit.
How many people are in each group?
We keep group sizes small to ensure you receive maximum benefit from your tuition (maximum 4 students per Instructor). This also minimises negative impact on the reefs. Our emphasis is on safety, fun and personal service within a relaxed and stress-free environment.

What can I do next?
A PADI Advanced Course certification is only the beginning! A whole new world of adventure is waiting for you.
Your next step would be to complete the EFR and PADI Rescue Diver Courses. These courses are serious fun and prepare you to be able to assist in a real diving emergency.
Then you can progress onto the PADI Master Scuba Diver Course or become a PADI Divemaster. Or you can just keep diving Koh Lanta, Phuket, Khao Lak…! Richelieu Rock Scuba Diving is ideally located in the Andaman Sea to offer shorter journey times on daily dive trips and Liveabord to some of the best dive sites in Thailand.
